This week I created a rough layout of majority of the animation. I refined the scene with the vase in the grayscale/cool toned world.

Over the week I also thought on the logistics of the idea of the interactive installation, and was given the suggestion to use a marble and build a mini marble tower that leads the marble to press a button to play the animation. I leaning more towards this idea, since it involves the marble and creates a deeper connection to the animation itself. The audience will receive a cool toned marble, and once they place the marble into the tower, the animation will play, and upon ending they will receive a warm toned marble. I am planning on playing around with my Arduino kit over the break to attempt at my first idea, but I will also keep the marble idea as a backup.

With the feedback I received from last week, I changed my color direction to be more warm/cool contrasted. This was my final iteration of the colors and animation of this scene. I plan to add warm toned plants/flowers in this scene later on, but I wanted to lay down the path of the ball first.

I also started planning an interactive installation to support my animation. My plan was to create a motion/photo sensor light that reacts to someone holding a flower against or near it. I'm beginning to do lots of research on Arduino kits and hoping to produce some decent prototypes within the next couple of weeks.

This week I worked on the Crit Design and Cultural Environment. I also began the first scene of my animation and gathered some feedback. I wasn't able to decide on color choices so I asked for feedback on how each scene makes them feel and which one fits the feeling I'm attempting to communicate the most. Here are the iterations I requested feedback for:

I received a useful source from one person I had asked for feedback from, and it was from the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. There was a scene where colors were a huge part of depicting the relationship between the father and daughter by using cool and warm tones. When watching this scene, I was inspired to play around with color a bit with my animation, because the colors weren't sitting right with me in these iterations.
